SoundGear Facts

Hearing damage can occur with exposure to sounds 90dB and up — yet a typical gunshot generates 140dB of sound. SoundGear electronic hearing protection provides proven, effective noise reduction during each gun blast and superior environmental monitoring between every shot.
SoundGear electronic hearing protection devices deliver a Noise Reduction Rating of 24-26dB depending on the model you have.
Visit our Use and Care page for detailed maintenance facts and information. You may also refer to the SoundGear Operation Manual for an overview of all our SoundGear devices and products.
Yes, SoundGear electronic hearing protection provides 100% digital sound enhancement designed to deliver superior environmental monitoring between gun shots.
Most earmuffs are big and bulky and reduce all sounds, including gun blasts. SoundGear electronic hearing protection devices are small, convenient, fit in your pocket and are designed to protect your hearing from gun blasts while simultaneously enhancing environmental awareness.
SoundGear is intended to be used as a hearing protection and enhancement device. Depending on which model you choose, they can offer a significant level of amplification. Unlike hearing aids, they are not programmable to an individual’s specific hearing loss and it is not recommended that the SoundGear product be used as a substitute for a hearing aid.
